..is what you will find if you are wandering in downtown Tampa at Curtis Hixon Waterfront park. This amazing park is located right on the banks of the Hillsborough river. It is right on the end of downtown Tampa in the waterfront arts district. The park is the locale for an incredible list of events all throughout the year. From movies on the lawn to marathons, to food truck rally’s and concerts. “Curtis Hixon” is the place to be. Being we live in central FL the flowing fountains are on pretty much all year for kids (and the sneaky adult) to splash around. Also the park is incredibly dog friendly with its own fenced dog park with obstacle course. Adjacent to the park it is surrounded by museums, the Straz center, and plenty of excellent restaurants and bars. Also for those looking to be more fit, the park is part of the Tampa River walk trail . A continuous 2.3 mile paved trail that runs along the Hillsborough river with excellent sights and sounds of the Tampa downtown area. Which you can enjoy on foot, on bike, or segue tour . Also get this, most events at the park are free or extremely cheap and are almost always family friendly. So what are you waiting for? Grab Fido and the kids and get down to Curtis Hixon Waterfront park, you’ll be glad you did!
